HAPPY 25th BIRTHDAY

* My ICHIBAN *

bdayI might be spending my time lately in Korea world, but you’ll never lose your place in my kokoro. Even though your hair currently looks like it’s been electrocuted, what you make me feel is what’s important.

You had me with Nakatsu…

had me drooling with Junpei

had me smiling with Takemoto

had my heart racing with Naoto

But it’s simply Ikuta Toma that I like best.

It’s SHE

August 16, 2009

Ella, Hebe, Selina

Ella, Hebe, Selina

S.H.E

the asian girl group that I respect and admire in terms of vocal and music quality

I first heard S.H.E’s songs when I was watching Bull Fighting which starred Mike He and Hebe. The song was 最近還好吗? (How have you been recently?) and I instantly fell in love with the song with it’s beautiful melody and harmony. After that I went on googling and wiki-ing everything about them and their music.

Here are my favorite songs from them:

最近還好吗? (How have you been recently?)

I love the second voice during the chorus part, and Ella’s vocals here were great.

怎麽辦? (What to do?)

Such cute lyrics! And I know some of us are guilty of one or two of these acts. Plus it features Chun!

Super Star

If you read the lyrics closely, it’s a bit psychotic. But hey, when you love, you love. And this is my song for my j/kboys.

一眼萬年 (One Glance, Eternity)

Ok I admit, I’m a sucker for Chinese songs with traditional sounding music. This is not an exception…

月桂女神 (Laurel Goddess)

…as well as this one. Sorry I wasn’t able to find a subbed vid of this, but the song describes the story of Apollo and Daphne of the Greek myth.

中国话 (Chinese)

Made me feel proud that I’m Chinese. Though some critics found the song quite offensive, it’s a smart way to promote Chinese culture.

Those are just some of my top picks, there’s quite a few more but they don’t have videos. But hopefully I was able to interest anyone in listening to this girl group cause they’re just great.

Strawberry Milk!

Strawberry Milk

Strawberry Milk

The search is finally over!

And now I know why Hyuk is addicted to this.

Who would have though it was just there, sitting in the cold refrigerator in the Korean convenience store in our office building! The store is called Sonamoo Mart and it sells everything that a Korean convenience store offers. I’m planning to try everything there is, there’s even a mini onigiri-looking food that I’ve been eying  for a few days now. Maybe one day I’ll finally be able to try it. Wait for it!

The main reason for our obsession.

Though I still want to find that particular brand…

you also get to see my oh so hi tech pc that I use for designing in the pic

Neko attends Metrowear

August 2, 2009

July 30, 2009 NBC Tent

MetroWear YDG/FDCP Show hosted by Samsung and Metro Magazine

I was there at the scene to witness both young and veteran fashion designers from the Young Designers Guild and Fashion Design Committee of the Philippines parade their latest pieces. It was, I admit, my first time attending such event (not counting the fashion show we had during our 3rd yr of college) and I wouldn’t have gone if it wasn’t for work. Yes, it was for work because my boss asked me to go in his place and take pictures of the models who wore the shoes we sponsored for the event. But I had fun nonetheless and got to spot some celebrities like Bianca Gonzales, Diether Ocampo; and Melissa Ricks and Megan Young who were models, but I only noticed it when I was already reviewing the pictures I took.

Cocktails started at past 6pm, but the show started at around quarter to 9pm. Wearing my wedged knee-high gladiators, my feet were ready to kill me. There were no seats to take a break, and we didn’t get seat tickets even though we were on the guest list because it was a first come first serve basis. But I did get an awesome spot for taking pictures, right in front of the end of the runway! I wasn’t going to give that place up no matter what happened, even when we did find two seat tickets on the floor. No way.

MetroWear Stage

The stage looked normal, but when the show started it totally transformed. The center part had box-like rows where models were sihlouetted. On the upper left side was the DJ looking cool. On the right housed the violinist and the choir who sang acapella versions of popular songs of today. Finally, the show started. The designs were grouped in different themes like Shakespeare, Enchantment, House on the Prairie, and others I don’t remember.

My favorite collections were from Hindy Weber-Tantoco, Rajo Laurel, Dong Omaga-Diaz, and Joey Samson.

Fountain walk in black

Fountain walk in black

Those were just some of the pictures I’ve taken, the others didn’t come out very well since the models only stood for a split second before walking back. Can you spot Bianca in the pictures? Haha she’s sitting somewhere there. Anyway, the whole show only lasted for 45 minutes max but it left me satisfied. Thank you Sir for being away so I could attend this!

And lastly, the Figlia girls. Who tried hard to fit in with all the fashionable people. Till next update! ~__^

Light & Dark

July 19, 2009

How do you like it?

Light or Dark?

Light

Dark

In celebration of Pirate‘s visit to Manila, we cam-whored in the middle of the night. With just using whatever was available in Reina’s closet, we ended up with these two pictures. This was actually taken almost a year ago, and I just got around to post-process the Light version. Sorry for taking too long!

Reset

July 12, 2009

It has been I-don’t-know-how-many years since the last time I had a proper blog site. Those previous one weren’t even updated regularly, just a few posts and got neglected. I’m hoping this time things will be different. I really want to maintain a blog where I can properly share my thoughts on things that catches my attention, as well as post my artworks since my deviant art is no longer being updated.

I’ll try to be as interesting as possible, but I know not everyone has the same humor as I do.
